However, the drink has become very popular all over the country and it is rare to meet a Nigerian who does not know of zobo. This drink is not unique to Nigeria though and is known over the world by different names. It is known in the french speaking parts of west Africa as jus de bissap, and particularly popular in the Caribbean Islands as Sorrel.

- Make ready Drink
- Prepare 3 small cups of dried hibiscus flower
- Take 1 cinnamon stick
- Get 8 cloves
- Make ready 1 1/2 tspns of ground ginger
- Prepare 1 water
- Get 1 half a pineapple
- Take 3 garlic pieces

It is said to have health benefits, I love how its easy to prepare and how refreshing it is. Find below how I prepare mine.
Steps to make Sorrel or Hibiscus or Zobo Drink:
- Put leaves in a pot and Wash the leaves in cold water
- After 5 mins of cooking on medium heat pour the remaining ingredients add more water then let it boil for almost 30mins to allow the leaves and pineapple to be soft .
- After 30mins of cooking turn off and set aside to cool down
- When cool, sieve out the juice from the leaves and other ingredients leaving only the juice in pot
- At this point you can also add any artificial flavour of your choice…some people might choose to add sugar I wanted mine a bit natural so I added honey and a bit of artificial flavour and stirred it
- Pour into a bottle or a water jug and refrigerate

Sorrel drink is a sour tasting dark red drink which is made from the sorrel plant's petals. While the Jamaicans refer to it as sorrel drink it has other names depending on where you drink it.
